A chance for children to get involved with community-wide events in the next few months, volunteers are always appreciated too.

Spring has definitely sprung and with the better weather comes some events which present great opportunities for the children to get involved and have some fun!

Please read on and contact me on jeannette.cripps@woodleyunitedfc.co.uk if your child would like to take part or you can offer some volunteer assistance (the occasional hour would be fantastic!):

Woodley 10km fun run - 8th May:
This is happening on 8th May, organised by Barnes Fitness. I'm looking for age 7-12 year old (approx.) players who can assist with handing out the water bottles to thirsty runners along Mays Lane (time to be advised) and help with presenting goody bags and medals at the finish line.

WUFC Tournament 4/5th June:
Over the weekend of 4/5th June, the Club will be hosting its first football tournament (this previously was the Woodley Hammers tournament).

The event is very much dependent upon volunteers to help put up the tents and stalls on the Friday (3rd June), help out in the stalls/car parking/admin tents over the course of the tournament and then assist with dismantling everything at the end on the Sunday.

It doesn't have to be all or even part day, just a hour or so and, of course, can fit in around whenever your child might be playing within the tournament.

Woodley Carnival - 11th June:
We have a float in the Carnival procession this year! Please let me know if your child would like to take part on the float and also whether you can offer any assistance with decorating the float beforehand.

If anyone works for a company that can supply some artificial grass, netting, wire and craft materials, send them my way!

As you'll see from the events, it's a great chance for the children to have some fun and help get the Club promoted within the community. We regularly get featured within local media too, so a chance to get a picture in the paper - maybe - and certainly on this website, facebook and twitter pages. I'll add more events in once they're known.

Any queries, or you have something you'd like shared within the Club (sporting activities/hat tricks/ideas for future events) drop me an email or contact me on 07866 242900.
