Natasha Masterr, also known as Tatty, is raising money for Cancer Research, a charity very close to her heart. 11 years ago Natasha's Dad was cancer free after a battle of fighting one of the highest causes of death across the world. In her page, Tatty says all money raised is going to Cancer Research UK, a charity that was a big part of their lives during and even after the cancer.

We caught up with Tatty, where she shares with us a bit more about her story:

How did it all come about?

In 2006 my Dad was diagnosed with stage 4 cholangiocarcinoma . I was fairly young at the time but me and my Dad have always been close and despite not fully understanding what was going on I still remember his absence and the emotions that came with the whole situation. Although my dad himself never lost his hair from the chemo, many others do, and its not the only thing cancer takes from a person. That’s what I’m trying to get across really, that the outside appearance of having no hair doesn’t even compare to the inside battle a person with cancer is going through.

Tell us more about the charity you have chosen ?

Cancer research UK is the UK equivalent of the American Cancer Society, which was the charity we had direct communication with, since Dad was diagnosed whilst we were months into living in Minnesota. They do lots of great fundraising events, one I’ll always remember is the Relay For Life, where you walk, run, moonwalk around an athletics track as many times as possible throughout the night. The money raised for the charity is used to fund clinical trials, which bring new cancer treatments to patients that may be out of other options. The money also funds the scientists working in the labs, behind the scenes, who have dedicated a large portion of their lives to helping solve the mystery that is this disease.

Any ideas on whom in the team would join you in?

All the girls are keen to help out with the fundraising and be active in their own, but if I had to choose one to go as far as shave their head it would have to be Ruth, she’s a bit of a nutter.

What’s your goal to raise, aside from the raising awareness?

Overall my target is £1000 but anything close or even over would be absolutely amazing, in 3 hours I’d already received 20% of that target so I’m confident we’ll be able to go above and beyond that.

This event will take on the 3rd January 2018, until then let's all get behind such a great cause.

Whether big or small, she is encouraging people to join such a great cause, and as a club we are committed to supporting Tatty by promoting and also donating. To donate, please see below:
