Girls team football returned to United and was a success

By Mark Rozzier

The u9 Girls played their first festival on a windy afternoon at Kensington Park, Tilehurst.

Members of our Saturday morning girls' sessions, supported by two of our BYDL players, played in the Berkshire County Girls League u9 Festival on Saturday 16th March.

This the first time in three years that the club has fielded a girls' team and thanks go to Ladies captain Ellen Surtees and Ladies Holly Wilkins for coaching the team on the day and Ladies Manager Marc Surtees for overseeing the team.

The event started well with a win against Wargrave thanks to Aylin's goal, followed by two goalless matches against Laurel Park and Bracknell Athletic before single goal defeat in the final game with Purley Jubilee.

Without doubt a successful day and thank you to all the players and club members who made this possible.
