Seven heaven for Cakey as Woodley hit double digits

Woodley tore Bracknell Atheltic to pieces this morning, despite a controversial change of pitch moments before KO.

The emphatic win saw Luke Cakey net 7 times, Nathan Bingham twice and Matt Leigh score his first career header

Woodley were once again seeking revenge on a side that had beat them earlier in the season. They got off to an excellent start. The ball was crossed in by Luke Cakey who had powered down the right he crossed in for Bingham to attack it, his first shot was blocked but he calmly slotted in the bottom corner for 1-0. It is the third game in a row Bingham has netted the games opening goal.

Athletic quickly went down the other end but fluffed their lines to give Woodley a let off.

It was soon 2-0 as Bingham got the ball from Ross Baker who injured himself in the play (get well soon) Bingham skipped past 2 tackles down the left and cut in to finesse into the far right corner.

Again Athletic retaliated but there finishing let them down.

Woodley were clinical and Bingham picked out Leigh with a ring wing cross for him to powerfully head home 3-0.

Cakey who ripped their defence to pieces was then fouled for a clear penalty. Shockingly it was saved. This installed a spark in Cakey who's name I am already sick of typing.

He quickly made amends, latching on to Russell Trevethan pass and dispatching into the corner 4-0.

The fifth goal I can't remember but I'm sure it was a great goal 5-0 at HT.

A refereing meltdown helped give Bracknell hope as he ignored a lino flag and clear shove although Woodley could have been stronger defensively. 5-1.

Bracknell then made it 5-2 as they made room down the left and squared to tap home.

Credit to Woodley who kept piling forward on the boggy and huge pitch - they would have the final laugh.

5 goals were scored in succession by Cakey. No I'm not lying. Assists for Owen 'Dil' Roberts Russell Trevethan Nathan Bingham Jack Haggerty not sure who got the other one?

Some great football was played as Woodley carved open the defence time after time.

FINAL SCORE: WOODLEY 10 - 2 Bracknell Athletic
