This is a lovely photo and probably the most poignant, as it includes Brian Finch, the founder of Woodley Hammers. It is thought that this must have been taken to celebrate the purchase of the first ever Hammer’s kit, because you may note there are no club badges yet. The badge used to come as a printed white square to be sewn on by your Mum (who hated the task!). It would be interesting if anyone knows which year Hammers changed from purple to the now blue and black, and why.
